My name is Yekaterina, but most people call me Katrina for short.  I am in my final semester at LAGCC, graduating with a major in Liberal Arts: Social Sciences and Humanities. This blog will be dedicated to posting content related to my HUA 101 class.  My goals for this class are to leave with a better understanding of the various multitudes of art genres.  One of my greatest passions in life is travel and I've fallen in love with the diverse forms of art portrayed in different locales.  Although I have a great appreciation for the more classical art that I viewed at the Hermitage in St. Petersburg I was also blown away by the architecture on my recent visit to Cuba, particularly in Old Havana.  Some background about me is that I intend to be a middle school English teacher due to my love for literature and also due to the flexibility to continue my travel endeavors that instructors receive due to having summers off.  I was born and raised in Queens, New York where I still reside but have been a bit bi-coastal as of recent; spending a majority of my free time in West Hollywood, Los Angeles.  I am fortunate enough to be fluent in two languages as I am of Eastern European descent.   Overall, I am excited about my mid 20s and feel as though anything monumentally life changing can happen at any moment.
